About the author

Joel has been managing fundraising programmes for more than 20 years, starting out at WaterAid, and then moving on to Amnesty International UK and VSO, before moving to senior roles in the UK Health and Social Care sector at United Response, Breast Cancer Campaign, and most recently as Director of Fundraising at two hospice charities. Currently freelancing, Joel loves exploring what makes fundraising tick in different organisations, and helping teams to problem-solve when things don't work as well as we would like. @joelvoysey if you want to say hi!
